Students Are Asking to be Baptized!

Kingsway always has a celebration in the fall for their graduating class, and this year it will also include the baptism of 10 students and 1 teacher!

Milly writes:

Majorly these children are the fruits of our Lent season Discipleship teaching/training. During Lent season last year and this year, I decided to form a Discipleship class to teach what it really means to be a follower of Jesus Christ, that is, what it means to be Jesus’ disciple.

Many students and some of our teachers attended the Discipleship classes, which I held after the main chapel service every Sunday during Lent. This is not a compulsory class but optional for children who want to grow in their faith as a disciple of Jesus Christ.

This year, among the many who attended the discipleship classes, these 10 students and 1 teacher asked me if they could be baptized. And many of them asked if they could be confirmed!

So, these 11 persons accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, which is a requirement. Of them, six students are not from Christian families. Some are Muslim, a few are from traditional African backgrounds. The rest are from families who had not baptized them as children.

I am now teaching them the Catechism to root them in the Christian faith and doctrines by God’s grace. After their baptism, I will then start teaching them with those who asked for confirmation. They will be confirmed together next year, God willing!

I just want to keep the circle of discipleship, baptism and confirmation at Kingsway as part of our Mission at school.

Pray with us!
